“Don’t hate Diabetes, find ways to love it”

According to American Diabetes Association, Diabetes is a group of diseases characterized by high blood glucose levels that result from defects in the body’s ability to produce and/or use insulin. India currently has more than 65 million people suffering from Diabetes.

International Diabetes Federation this year is observing 14th November as the World Diabetes Day. The day is usually dedicated for creating awareness about managing Diabetes. Delhi Elite Cyclists (DEC) in association with Diabetes Education & Research Foundation (DERF) headed by eminent Diabetologist, Dr. Ashok Jhingan has taken a VOW to demolish diabetes through cycling.

Delhi Elite Cyclists (DEC) believes that cycling is the best way to Stop Diabetes. With the understanding that Diabetes cannot be demolished in one single day by riding the bicycle, DEC and DERF have planned for “Ride to India Gate” on all Sundays of November 2015 to make cycling as a habit to Demolish Diabetes. The 1st ride started from Moments Mall, Kirti Nagar @4:45 am on 1st Nov 2015. More than 45 cyclists participated in this awareness Ride to Demolish Diabetes.
