Young Footballers Displayed Quality Football in 4TH Open 7A Side Football Tournament

With the sun shining on February 5, 16 teams which have qualified for the pre-quarterfinals in 4th Open 7A Side Football Tournament were ready with their best of the players to play their best game of football.

Professional teams like Friends United FC, Taj FC, Mann FC and Paschim Heroes FC have displayed their best of the talents in their first round of matches and were hopeful to display the same grit and determination to move strongly in subsequent rounds.

The well-prepared teams and the players used every trick in the book to put the ball in their opponent’s goal including the all-important headers. It was the football that mattered to the players as from obstructing in the air to throwing themselves on the ground; they left no stone unturned to get hold of the ball. Sometimes the moves proved to be perfect and were applauded by the teammates on the sidelines, while there were moves which caught the inspecting eye of the referee and declared foul.

The stiffer competition was seen among top 8 teams like the quarter-final between Taj FC and Dynamic Football Academy, which had the nail-biting finish until Dynamic Football Academy got better off their opponents post Penalty Shootouts in Sudden Death Round.

Dynamic Football Academy didn’t have the same luck in their semi-final match against the Mann FC in the penalty shootouts and was left behind to watch the finals from the sidelines between Taj FC and Friends United FC.

Friends United FC reached the finals defeating the toughest of teams in the tournament and was determined to lift the trophy. At the end, it came down to Taj FC and Friends United FC to fight it out for their glory. Both the teams played a quality game but it was Friends United FC which kept on their nerves to beat Mann FC in yet another thriller penalty shootouts to win the 4th Open 7A Side Football Tournament and received a cash prize of Rs.21, 000/-. Man FC team was not contented but had to settle down with Runner Up trophy and the cash prize of Rs.11, 000/-

The real winners were off-course the young footballers, who after gaining experience from such tournaments, will go to the level and make themselves and the country proud.
